Werks of Art Stage 2 Clutch

Once I tweaked my APR Stage 3 installation, and replaced the bypass valve on my A4, I started to notice that my clutch was slipping.  The slipping was first noticed under full boost in fifth gear.  It later spread to fourth gear SO time to go shopping.  I spent about 4 months looking into all the pros and cons of the various options.

There are suprisingly FEW clutches on the market for the Audi A4 1.8T.  There is:

• O.E.M. Sach's clutch.
• Sachs Sport Clutch    - A sport version clutch disc which can be combined with a higher rated pressure plate to handle up to 300hp.
• APR/AWE Clutch Kit    - A lightweight single mass flywheel/clutch kit with 1,800psi pressure plate rated to handle up to 350hp.
• Centerforce    -A sport adaptation of the Sachs clutch with higher rated pressure plate.
• Clutch Masters     -ClutchMasters will create a fully custom clutch for any application.  It requires you to send them your clutch for modification
• Werks of Art    -A custom kevlar II clutch setup with 2,000psi pressure plate.  Clutch kits are in stock, but a core charge is required. 

I went with the Werks of Art clutch because of the functionality, design  and ratings for the clutch.  I did not want to go with a single mass lightweight flywheel, as it will generate tranny noise in the A4.  I will be doing regular write ups on my impressions as I put the clutch through its paces on the street and track over the next year or so.
